The belief is to worship this Bridegroom of Valli on the Poosam star day, one gets married quickly, because it is said that the wedding of Valli and Murugan happened on the Poosam star day. Between them stand Lord Muruga and his spouse Valli hand in hand and grace us – this is a special feature and a rare sight. On the right side of Lord Muruga is the sanctum of Annamalaiyaar and Unnamulai Ambal. It is of significance to note that all the god-images except that of Muruga are sculpted in emerald stone. Opposite him is the sanctum of Saint Arunagirinathar. The Prime Deity Balasubrahmanya is about 4.5 feet height and appears in standing posture. The specialty of this place is the peacock made in emerald stone. Once their wishes are fulfilled, the devotees perform ‘milk abhishekam’ to Lord Muruga. To worship here is good for those who wish to construct a new house. The belief is that just by remembering Siruvapuri Murugan, a person gets what he desires, like a person attaining Mukti just by thinking of Tiruvannamalai. Those who come to have darshan in this temple need not strain themselves by observing strict vows like fasting. The Rajagopuram of this temple has five stages. Arulmigu Balasubrahmanyswamy Tirukkoil, Siruvapuri, Chennai.
